Came out of the pretty red and white ball Kiri found after the not-mother pushed her outside. Kiri doesn't look like a bird anymore, but she's happy to have a companion. And Chatot likes to mimic things just like she does!
Chatot, on her part, is just as much a pile of mischief as Kiri is, and will happily enable her trainer in just about any scheme that seems fun at the time. Since her trainer doesn't seem to speak human (or Pokemon, for that matter, but that's not expected) Chatot has taken it on herself to help 'translate.' The effectiveness of this is yet to be determined.

Kiri got at least a little of what's up from the world from various people, so she knows about making friends with Pokemon and that Pokemon fight. When she saw a bird out on the road, of course her first action was to throw a ball at it. If nothing else, she's got good aim. When Pikipek broke out without any trouble, she told it 'this means we are friends!' and threw another.
Pikipek was kind of amused about how bold this little human was being and decided he'd come along. He's become her main fighter. Since Spearow came along, his status as main fighter of the flock has been less solid. He's gotten into a rivalry with the other bird, and after a desperation evolution while facing Bugsy, prompting an equally desperate evolution from Spearow while facing Falkner, he evolved the last time to Toucannon mostly out of sheer spite. This upset Kiri very much and he... regrets that. Fearow is still his rival!!1! though.

Not long after spotting Pikipek, Kiri saw another bird! So many birds to make friends with. This time, with Pikipek's help, there was a battle, and Starly lost even though he was higher level. If he hadn't been the only one brave enough to scout for his flock alone...
But Starly accepted his loss and is happy to be among Kiri's team. He gets to travel and that's something he's always secretly wanted to do. Scouting wasn't enough.
Now that Kiri is (more or less) okay with evolving, he's decided it's time! He did wait a week in between, though.

Towards the evening of her second day of travel, Kiri spotted a cat, and that made her miss Frumpkin. There was no reason she couldn't have cat friends too! (She just wants to go back with the Mighty Nein so much) Her birds were less enthused, but did manage to beat the cat, and it turns out he's pretty chill, and aware that Kiri needed some comfort, so now she has a therapy cat.
Well, after his nap friend Pidgey evolved, Espurr felt awkwardly small, so he evolved! Kiri at least understands that evolution is a thing now. It still weirds her out a little bit, but it's how Pokemon grow up, so she guesses it's okay. (Does it have to happen so fast though?)

Bio:
Once in Cherrygrove, Kiri ran into another bird! She thought the Rookidee was a nestling and went to help. Nope, just an especially small example of an already tiny bird. But Rookidee took it pretty calmly and after an explanation from Chatot and a battle to prove that they were worthy of her company, Kiri got herself another bird friend!
After watching Kiri's confusion over other Pokemon evolving, Rookidee decided to hold off until someone could explain to Kiri. But now that Kiri understands evolution better, and after the Spinda incident, Rookidee decided to evolve all the way. She can help Kiri by flying her around as a Corviknight! Now that she's evolved now all she has to do is practice flying with a passenger! (ie learn Fly)

After the second time Hoothoot woke Kiri up from a sound sleep, she asked her birds to please make the owl be quiet. Espurr brought the Hoothoot back and Kiri immediately got out a ball upon seeing the bird. New friend get!
Hoothoot is very exact, and has taken it upon himself to be the group's alarm clock and general timer. He's also a good night watchmen, and Kiri has started sleeping better, knowing he's keeping a lookout.

Near dusk, Kiri spotted a little flock of Murkrow not far off the path. New birds meant she had to try to make a friend! Even more than that, they look just a little bit like Kenku. That's why she didn't give up even when the Murkrow led her in circles and got her lost. After catching one at last, of course, Kiri had no idea how to get back to the road. Uh-Oh.
Murkrow was very amused at the whole incident, and is also picky about everything. Where to perch, what to eat, and anything else that involves some kind of choice.

Bio:
While Kiri was lost in the woods at night after her catching-Murkrow caper, she came upon a friendly ghost! The pink tips of the ghost's not-hair reminded Kiri of Thorne. New friend! A new friend who knew how to get Kiri and her flock back to the road, too!
She likes to nap in her Pokeball, most of the time, but when she isn't she's a gentle and sweet friend to have around. Very helpful with whatever needs doing.

On one of her first days in Violet, Kiri spotted a row of Taillow sitting on a roof. She couldn't get one of her balls that far, so she tried to climb. This was not a good idea, but she didn't give up. Impressed with her guts, Taillow decided to join the flock.
